Jason Mewes

Anthony and I were walking around the convention center on Saturday and killing some time when we walked past the View Askew booth and saw a line. We looked at where the line ended and there was Jason Mewes signing some autographs. So Anthony and myself hoped in line and got some merch signed. I had my Jersey Girl DVD signed by him, even though he was not in Jersey Girl except for the commentary. I had him sign it "That's a nice cityskape (sic)," because that's the opening line of the commentary and has become an inside joke between Anthony and myself. I also had him sign my "Evening With Kevin Smith" DVD and I bought a Jay figure from Bryan Johnson and had him sign that as well as a gift for my aunt Pam.

John Cassaday

Since Anthony and myself didn't meet any comic book people in 2004, we decided to score on the opportunity to have the greatest comic book penciler in the business today, John Cassaday to sign some Astonishing X-Men comics for us. He was a very awesome dude and commented on Anthony's Capt. Malcolm Reynolds costume, as Cassaday himself is a browncoat.

Kevin Smith

For the second year in a row, I was able to get some stuff signed by the greatest filmmaker, in my book, Kevin Smith. I had him sign the first issue of Green Arrow that he wrote considering I had to pay $8 for it earlier in the day. I also had him scribble his John Hancock on my "Evening With Kevin Smith" DVD. I also went to his Q&A session again this year and like last year he was absoltuely hilarious. He told more stories of him and Prince, his fall-out with Ben Affleck, as well as a hilarious 25-minute story about his shooting of "Catch & Release" and how he almost got to a point where he had to knock him out with a chair.

Mick Foley

During the comic convention, I was able to meet one of my heroes growing up, Mick Foley. I had him sign my copy of the first book that he wrote "Have A Nice Day." The only downside is that it costed $20 to have him scribble his name in it. But if anybody was worth the money for an autograph and a picture at the convention, it would be him.

Mercedes McNab

Harmony from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel was in attendence for the convention this year. And like Mick Foley, she also charged $20 for an autograph. By the time she showed up on Saturday, I was basically already out of money, so I opted to just stand in line and take pictures for Anthony. On Sunday, she was sitting at her table, with no line, so I just asked if I could get a picture, but the guy collecting the cash said she would only do it if I bought a signed picture.

Hot Star Wars Chicks

Andy Hallet was definitely one of the more entertaining parts of the convention. Complete with really crappy Lorenettes and the fact that he showed up about a half-hour late on his first signing date. When I met him, he looked like he had no idea what he was doing and his manager had to tell him what to do exactly. Oh well, it was still a pretty cool thing to meet the man behind the green. Thanks for coming?

George Lowe

George Lowe, the voice of Space Ghost, was in attendence this year at the Con and Billy O totally had to score on his autograph. He charged $10 ($1 of which I threw in because he was short), but it was totally worth it as he managed to write all random funny notes all over Billy's Space Ghost: Coast to Coast Volume 1 DVD. Afterwards, he was nice enough to take a picture with me free of charge. Total class act and pretty hilarious as well.

More Random Pictures

There were a lot more fun events that took place including attending the Wizard Comics Yearly Awards, which was a pretty awesome ceremony considering Anthony, Billy, and myself were sitting just a column of chairs away from most of the biggest names in the comic industry. I also have some pictures of some of the props from the new "Batman Begins" movie, a picture of me with a person in a Wonder Women outfit (SCORE!), Brian Michael Bendis (HEY GUYS), Sin City writer/co-director (and Brenty Award winner) Frank Miller along with his All Star Batman & Robin penciler Jim Lee, and MC Chris. Overall it was another great show.
